An Anonymous Coward writes:

The Guardian is celebrating "the world’s worst ebook artwork", as discovered by the creator of a new Tumblr feed.

“It is the hubris of it that people get a kick out of,” claims the creator. “The devil-may-care attitude of an author, who, with zero arts training, says to themselves: ‘How hard can it be?’”

Despite all the objectively bad artwork on Kindle Cover Disasters, the creator claims that it is all meant to be affectionate. “I’m for creativity. Give me a choice between the mundane or a beautiful mess and I’ll take The Hound Riders of P’toonig’ai every time.”

While the titles of the books are frequently as mind-boggling as the covers themselves, one in particular saw the author adding eyes and mouths onto three planetary bodies, creating an inadvertently creepy montage.
