It appears there were problems with our "StartCom Ltd." Certificate. There was a recent report of a Chinese registrar which had allowed a level 2 registrar issue certs for domains that they should not have, as part of an internal firewall application. For example, it was claimed it had generated a cert for google.com -- bad registrar!
paulej72 updated the dev site to use a self-signed cert (SoylentNews PBC) that, when accepted, allowed the site to load normally.
