Unicode test

For testing purposes, some of these are repeated in a monospace font . . .
  1. Euro Symbol: €.
  2. Greek: Μπορώ να φάω σπασμένα γυαλιά χωρίς να πάθω τίποτα.
  3. Íslenska / Icelandic: Ég get etið gler án þess að meiða mig.
  4. Polish: Mogę jeść szkło, i mi nie szkodzi.
  5. Romanian: Pot să mănânc sticlă și ea nu mă rănește.
  6. Ukrainian: Я можу їсти шкло, й воно мені не пошкодить.
  7. Armenian: Կրնամ ապակի ուտել և ինծի անհանգիստ չըներ։
  8. Georgian: მინას ვჭამ და არა მტკივა.
  9. Hindi: मैं काँच खा सकता हूँ, मुझे उस से कोई पीडा नहीं होती.
  10. Hebrew(2): אני יכול לאכול זכוכית וזה לא מזיק לי.
  11. Yiddish(2): איך קען עסן גלאָז און עס טוט מיר נישט װײ.
  12. Arabic(2): أنا قادر على أكل الزجاج و هذا لا يؤلمني.
  13. Japanese: 私はガラスを食べられます。それは私を傷つけません。
  14. Thai: ฉันกินกระจกได้ แต่มันไม่ทำให้ฉันเจ็บ

    Hopefully this won't matter for long. I've got comments and submissions working with full unicode support on the VM. Only problem left is as soon as you hit admin.pl to do editor stuff and approve the submission, it stops working and goes back to gibberish. Hopefully I'll be able to trace that down tomorrow. With any luck, this stop-gap will never need to see service on live.

    That's great news! Thanks for all your hard work!

    I did some more looking around and found this file that I'd downloaded a while ago: http://www.w3.org/2001/06/utf-8-wrong/UTF-8-test.html [w3.org]

    I was able to get an Internal Server Error with that test file, as follows:

    1. I loaded the file into FireFox 24.6.0 (that's the LTS version) on Win/XP SP3.
    2. Got a copy of the displayed text by doing: right-click, select all, and copy.
    3. I opened a reply to this "story".
    4. Entered a string for the title: cut-n-paste of display of UTF-8-test.html
    5. Pasted the above copied-text into the comment field.
    6. Drop-down-list selection was set to: "Plain Old Text"
    7. Clicked on preview.

    Got this error:

    Internal Server Error
    The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

    Please contact the server administrator, admin@dev.soylentnews.org and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.
