The Guardian is celebrating "the world’s worst ebook artwork", as discovered by the creator of a new Tumblr feed.
“It is the hubris of it that people get a kick out of,†claims the creator. “The devil-may-care attitude of an author, who, with zero arts training, says to themselves: ‘How hard can it be?’â€
Despite all the objectively bad artwork on Kindle Cover Disasters, the creator claims that it is all meant to be affectionate. “I’m for creativity. Give me a choice between the mundane or a beautiful mess and I’ll take The Hound Riders of P’toonig’ai every time.â€
While the titles of the books are frequently as mind-boggling as the covers themselves, one in particular saw the author adding eyes and mouths onto three planetary bodies, creating an inadvertently creepy montage.
