But I can't seem to get my login verified. Click the link, login, and "You've been redirected to this login page because you have tried accessing a page that was not available to you as an anonymous user." Try to login from that page, and
"Invalid Password Or User Name
Your account is currently pending your email confirmation.
Visiting the link sent to you in this email will activate your account.
If you need this email resent, please click below and a confirmation email will be sent to the email address you provided in registration.[Resend Confirmation Email]"
Resending the confirmation email just starts the process over again.

Be sure to check your spam folder. Gmail dropped mine there.
(Which on Gmail is distinct from your "Junk" folder. Clear as mud.)

No, I *got* the verification message (three times). It just doesn't want to let me login when I open the link.

It's rather simple. When you create an account, it sends a hashed link to verify the email address. Bog standard verification process for the last two decades. You click the link and have to put in your username/password. I do that, it doesn't work.

You appear to already be logged in? My email link was just the SN login page with the password embedded in the URL. There was no verification other than them pre-generating a password and emailing it. That link will probably auto-login and let you change the password to something else.

I'm talking about on the bug tracker.
Also, a suggestion: how about loosening or removing the "it's been X minutes since you last successfully posted a comment" for logged in users while there's only a few hundred of us?

Me too.
Gmail marked the email as spam. (Anything you can do about that guys? Sender Policy Framework?)
But that's not a big problem. I clicked the link in the email and got to a screen that said "Verify" and "In order to complete your registration, login now. Your account will then be activated for normal logins."
But trying to log in gives me those same contradictory "Invalid Password Or User Name" and "Your account is currently pending your email confirmation ... " messages as GeminiDomino got.

I did. I then tried signing up a 2nd time with new details, and this time noticed and obeyed the bit in brackets:

Or it could just be "2nd time lucky" for both of us. Anyway, I'll try to look into raising it as a bug.
