In preview, as 'HTML Formatted', the comment title has the right symbol, but I only see a gray box in the comment text area.

From what I've found (using BabelMap), the above character ("∢" == ∢ ) is known as "U+2222 SPHERICAL ANGLE" and appears in the "Mathematical Operators" Unicode Block.

I just picked it because it was all one number and below the "needs converted to an entity" limit.

I *just* granted myself one day of subscription, but did not see a 'badge' when I reloaded this page. Am replying to see if this makes a difference.

Okay, when I hit preview, the 'badge' appeared on THIS comment and on the Parent comment. Yay!

At the time of this writing, the parent comment was still showing a Subscription Badge. It appears, therefore, to NOT be strictly 24 hours' time from when the subscription was granted.

It will very shortly be tomorrow (based on UTC time)... let's see if the badge disappears after 6 more minutes have transpired.

According to my clock, I have now 'passed into tomorrow' — in other words, it is now approximately 2015-03-14_00:03:30

I refreshed the page containing the above comments and still saw the subscriber badge.

It might be that the page is cached and it may take a while for the cache to refresh... I'll try again in a few minutes.

Annnnd, after hitting preview on the above story, and then submit, I reloaded this story's page and Voila! The subscriber badge was removed.

Success, I think. Does this mean that one of the days granted in a subscription is only a *partial* day's worth of content?

Upon further reflection, it seems to me that, at least in this particular instance, I received *more* than 24 hours' of subscription. Off-hand, it now appears to me that whenever there is a non-zero amount of subscription granted, the user receives that number of days, plus whatever fraction of a day is required to reach midnight (UTC) of the end date.
